Dishwasher Soap

I have been wanting to try homemade dishwasher soap for some time, but I had a giant box of dishwasher tablets that I had to use before I started the good old homemade stuff.

The other day I finally got down to the last tablet, so I got to make my homemade version! Luckily, I had all the ingredients at home so I was able to throw it together very quickly and didn't have to run to the store.

1/2 cup washing soda
1/2 cup Borax
1/4 cup kosher salt
10 drops of Lemon essential oil

Mix well and store in an air tight container. Use 1 tablespoon per load.

You will also want to add a rinse agent to the dishwasher so that your dishes don't come out with a film on them.

1 drop of Lemon essential oil
3 drops of dish soap
1/2 cup vinegar

Just put the rinse agent in the bottom of your dishwasher every time you run it and ta-dah! You have beautiful sparkly dishes without all the chemical garbage from store-bought soap!! Also, it's cheap!
