Food

Oh the glorious battle of food. I used to envy women who were "naturally" thin, (ok sometimes I still do, but for the most part I'm over it). I would think how wonderful it would be to eat candy and donuts all day. But then reality would sink in, and after eating candy and donuts all day, I watched myself get heavier.

I am grateful to not be "naturally" thin, because then I would have NEVER started down the road to healthy eating. To be honest with myself I have to insert that I'm grateful most days, I still have my moments of a pity party, but they are few and far between.

I am always researching about food, I have read dozens of books and have gone to several seminars. When doing this you will notice that a lot of "experts" contradict one another. Some say our bodies weren't meant for meat, while the other side says we must have it; there are several differences about dairy, grains, and so on. There is one thing that EVERYBODY can agree on-FRUITS & VEGETABLES!! We need this stuff, and we need a lot of it. I went to a health class taught from The Green Smoothie Girl, and she was talking about how the United States has actually increased its vegetable consumption, but it's from french fries. Sad.
